Ah. Now we understand who the real bullies are

by David Safier

State Republicans have killed the school bullying bill which would increase efforts to minimize bullying in schools. At the forefront of the effort was Center for Arizona Policy President Cathi Herrod. The bill, in her "Christian Values" eyes, is part of the gay agenda. Since gays and lesbians are often targets of bullying, educating teachers and administrators about the problem would make them too gay friendly for Herrod's comfort.

Apparently, Herrod thinks the real bullying victims aren't students in our schools. They're her "Christian Values" supporters. According to her internet newsletter:

"Groups like Equality Arizona and GLSEN [Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network] have chosen this issue to bully you and me into allowing them access into our schools and to our children."

We have to add the Anti-Defamation League to the list of bullies, since, according to Herrod, representatives of the organization, along with gay rights groups, were "in attendance at the bill's committee hearing to support and see the legislation pass."

Poor Cathi Herrod. Poor Center for Arizona Policy. Poor Republicans. When will the bullying end?
