Arizona Democratic Reaction to the Trump Marathon of Serial Lying in his State of the Union…Debacle Address

Two qualities Donald Trump is good at, long-windedness and serial lying, were on full display last night as he delivered the State of the Union…Debacle before a joint session of Congress, where he set a record for length while Republicans cheered everything, including the bull fecal matter and the prospect of giving up their Congressional powers. Democrats applauded the Men’s Hockey team and the military veterans, sporadically acknowledged other Trump statements like bombing Iran, and mostly sat down for everything else he said with the occassional jeering like when he tried to brand all Somali immigrants as pirates, and in Texas Representative Al Green’s case, ejection from the Chamber for the second year in a row for rightly taunting Mr. Trump and his post on social media last month depicting the Obama’s as apes.

Below is a video of the speech for the brave who do not mind losing two hours of their lives for nothing.

Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Delegation treated the event in different ways.

Representative Yassamin Ansari attended a competing event called The People’s State of the Union, where she pleaded for the release of Arbella “Yari” Rodríguez Márquez, a leukemia patient who has been held in the Eloy Detention facility for months.

Representative Adelita Grijalva proclaimed in her statement below, following Trump’s nearly two-hour rendition of mostly lies, that the American Duce Wannabe’s remarks “Were completely detached from reality” that did “not address the needs of working families,” and after a year of Trump’s return, “Americans are less safe, more divided, and more expensive than before.”

Representative Greg Stanton issued two posts. The first, writing that “Americans tuned in to the #SOTU2026 looking for real answers — on rising prices for groceries, housing, health care, and more. They didn’t get them. Trump has no plan to lower your costs. None.”

He also posted a reaction from the New Democratic Coalition that he is a member of.

In a video statement, Senator Mark Kelly, while positively acknowledging Trump’s honoring of military veterans, giving two the medal of honor, called Trump’s address a “Crazy speech, an hour and 45-50 minutes of just grievance…It was angry. It wasn’t what I expect of a President…a low point.”

Senator Kelly also issued a statement that read:

Tonight, Arizonans didn’t hear a real plan to lower costs or make their lives better. Instead, they heard more excuses from a president who promised to lower prices on ‘day one’ but has only made Americans poorer and less safe.”

One year into his presidency, families are paying more at the grocery store. Seniors are struggling to afford their prescription drugs. Small business owners are having trouble keeping their doors open, and President Trump’s illegal tariffs are making it worse.”

“While costs go up for working families, his biggest accomplishment last year was handing a giant tax cut to rich people and big corporations, paid for by kicking people off Medicaid, cutting food assistance, and driving up health care costs.”

Donald Trump mentioned a few things I agreed with, like banning stock trading in Congress and stopping hedge funds from buying single-family homes. America would be better off if he focused on working with us to get those done, instead of giving tax breaks to billionaires and enriching himself and his family.”

Senator Ruben Gallego started the day off in a Democratic Senate presser, previewing Mr. Trump’s lies and reminding Americans that since Mr. Trump came back, they are “sicker and poorer.”

Later in another presentation, he added they were “less safe.”

Like Ansari, Gallego also spoke at the People’s State of the Union, calling Mr. Trump’s address “State of Denial” because of the many lies spewing from his and Republican Congressmen’s lips.

For people who want to watch a short political speech planted in reality and addresses the needs of the American People, watch Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger’s rebuttal to Trump’s State of the Debacle.
