News of President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 Presidential race has resulted in glowing tributes from many of the Arizona Democrats who have known and worked with him throughout his storied career.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs stated on social media:
“President Biden is the embodiment of a public servant. Throughout his career, he has led with integrity, selflessness, and unparalleled empathy. His decision today is a clear reflection of these qualities and his commitment to putting the American people first. As President, he has delivered for the United States and for Arizona. Our state is benefitting from once-in-a-lifetime investments that are creating thousands of good-paying jobs for Arizonans and accelerating our economy, all while rebuilding our infrastructure and reviving American manufacturing. I look forward to continuing Arizona’s partnership with the Biden Administration for the final months of his term, and I know his dedication to moving our state forward remains steadfast.”
Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes posted on social media:
“Humility and gratitude towards the American people are the takeaways from the President’s letter withdrawing from the race. Solid leadership.”
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes wrote:
“I want to thank President @JoeBiden for his dedicated service to our nation. From guiding us out of the pandemic to revitalizing our economy and for supporting freedom and democracy at home and abroad. His lifetime of public service — and especially his presidency — will have a deep and lasting impact on our country and our planet. Thank you for everything you have done for the American people, Mr. President. I stand ready to help move America forward and am honored to support Vice President
@KamalaHarris as our Presidential nominee.”
Senator Mark Kelly posted:
.@JoeBiden has been one of the most consequential presidents in history. He led us out of the pandemic, took historic steps to bring back microchip and clean energy manufacturing and rebuild our infrastructure, and he has strengthened our alliances and made our country safer. It takes great humility to make the difficult decision that President Biden has made to not seek re-election, but that’s the Joe Biden I know — someone who puts what he believes is best for his country above all else.”
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego posted on Instagram:
“President @joebiden has achieved so much, made so many lives better–especially here in Arizona–and will go down in the history books as one of our most effective presidents of our lifetimes.
I’ve seen firsthand how he has delivered for our state. The CHIPS Act has paved the way for our entire region to become an advanced manufacturing hub and has delivered tens of billions in new investments and thousands of good jobs. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is transformative and will lead to shorter commute times, safer roads, and a greener future. Arizona’s seniors can now rely on low costs for medication such as insulin. And he’s made essential strides in our efforts to combat climate change.
On this day, on behalf of Phoenix, I have a simple message for Joe Biden: Thank you.”
Tuscon Mayor Regina Romero commented:
@JoeBiden provided necessary leadership and integrity at a time when our country desperately needed it. His focus on building back together with transformative infrastructure investments and a focus on working families, and creating a more resilient future has made a difference for all of us, especially here in Arizona. Today, on behalf of all Tucsonans, I offer my deep appreciation to our President.
Congressional District Three House Represenative Ruben Gallego offered:
“From his work to pass the Violence Against Women Act as a Senator, to his fight to find a cure for cancer with his Cancer Moonshot as Vice President, to his life-changing work to cut the cost of prescription drugs and create more than 365,000 Arizona jobs as President, President Biden has consistently worked to make life better for hardworking Americans. He again put our country first today, as he has throughout his tenure as a public servant.
“As we look to Election Day, Arizona is at a crossroads. Protecting abortion rights, lowering the cost of everyday essentials, securing our water future, taking care of our veterans — all of this and more is on the line. That’s why I will spend the next 107 days laser-focused on defeating Kari Lake and her dangerous plans to ban abortion, endanger our seniors’ Medicare, and hurt Arizona families.”
Congressional District Three House Candidate Yassamin Ansari conveyed:
“President Biden has been an extraordinary leader throughout his decades of public service. A legislative powerhouse. A kind, compassionate, thoughtful human being. His presidential policy record is unmatched. From passing the biggest investment in climate action to being the most pro-union president in US history, President Biden has led the way to deliver on issues that mean the most to us. I am in awe of the work he’s done for the American people over the last four years and his decades of service to this country. Thank you for everything,
@POTUS.”
Congressional District Three House Candidate Raquel Teran relayed:

We will carry on your commitment to ending extremism and working towards a brighter future for all Americans.”

We are beyond grateful for his lifetime of dedicated, selfless and steadfast leadership, and for his record that always prioritizes hard-working American families. President Biden is a patriot and a statesman in the truest sense of the words, and he has proven that once again by putting the future of his country ahead of himself.”

Today through November 5, we are steadfast in our commitment to defeating Donald Trump once and for all, and electing Democrats up and down the ballot.”

Biden put country over self.
He’ll go into the history books next to FDR and LBJ.
Now, let’s get Harris a great running mate and put an end to the last nine years of BS and save America from christo-fascism and hate.
