Arizona’s Congressional Democrats React to the Gross Incompetence From The Nation’s Worst and Dumbest on Trump’s National Security Team

If Vice President JD Vance, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, C.I.A. Director John Radcliffe and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard were not so far up inside Donald Trump’s and the owners of MAGA right-wing media outlets like Fox and Newsmax asses, none of these yokels would qualify for cashiers at the local Burger King.

These representatives of the political classes’ worst and dumbest, whose only qualifications for their current positions were their ability to pucker up and kiss Mr. Trump’s buttocks, knowingly held national security discussions regarding a bombing mission on the Houthis in Yemen last week in a public chat network called Signal.

Waltz also displayed gross stupidity by inviting the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg (who intially thought this was all some joke or attempt at getting out disinformation) into the discussion where war plans were apparently discussed.

Fortunately, Goldberg, who on Inside with Jen Psaki, said he could not believe these people would talk about actual war plans on a public exchange, exercised good judgment and did not publish the war plans before the mission went ahead and lives that could have been endangered by this recklessness were not.

That said, what these individuals did, holding a national security discussion of a pending military action in a public forum and not noticing the presence of the journalist Goldberg in these talks is the epitome of gross incompetence.

If Trump and many of these same individuals involved in this incident could call for Hillary Clinton’s head for not correctly heeding some marks on documents on a public server, then someone or individuals should be resigning right now.

What is perhaps more troubling about this group chat is where is Donald Trump’s presence in any of it. Granted, many of these meetings do not include the Chief Executive at all of the planning stages.

But not one text or involvement at all from the person who has to order the dropping of the bombs.

Something is not right here on many levels.

Members of Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Delegation voiced their outrage at the Musk/Trump/Vance Central Committee’s gross incompetency and hypocrisy.

In the first of two posts, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari posted one word, “incompetent.”

In a second post, she said:

“This is one of the biggest national security failures of my lifetime. The fact that sensitive, highly confidential discussions about a pending military action was discussed over a commercial messaging app — and then inadvertently included an outside party in the text thread — is not only extremely dangerous with severe national security implications, but blatantly violated federal law.

I’m calling on Republicans to join with Democrats in immediately investigating this egregious breach of national security.”

Arizona House Representative Greg Stanton offered:

“Trump’s senior national security team, including the @VP, used the commercial messaging app Signal to communicate detailed war plans.

This massive breach of national security protocol could easily have cost American soldiers their lives.

Americans—especially the families of servicemembers—deserve answers. Congress must immediately hold oversight hearings and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place moving forward.”

Senator Mark Kelly wrote:

“NOTICE TO WHITE HOUSE STAFF: There is a room in the building and secure systems where you are supposed to have these discussions. SIGNAL ain’t it. Your recklessness put the lives of those pilots at risk. You got lucky! Time to reevaluate the way you are doing things.”

Senator Ruben Gallego appeared on CNN’s Erin Burnett show and asserted that if he had done what these people did while on active military duty, he would have been courtmartialed.

He also said in a social media post:

“Today proved this Administration cannot handle national security secrets. They’re amateurs, and our country is less safe because of them.”

But of course in MAGA world, the only people who get in trouble when they commit such dereliction of duty are the individuals from the other side of the political spectrum whether the accusations are imagined or real.

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttugieg may have said it the best with the below post.

Thankfully, no innocent Americans in the military paid the price for such stupidity.

The country may not be so lucky a second time.

It is time for these representatives of the worst and dumbest of the Trump F team to go.

  1. Can you imagine Fox News if Hillary Clinton or a Democratic Administration had did this. Screaming bloody murder for months. Calling for never ending congressional hearings headed by peabrains like Jordon or Biggs. Filing impeachments, calling to lock her up. But Fox either dismisses it, or shifts to the “hunt for waste.” Facts confuse them, ignorence defines them, incompetence propels them.
