Today, Donald Trump, undoubtedly annoyed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not signed the MAGA diktat surrendering fifty percent of Ukraine’s mineral rights to the United States, sided with Putin during a United Nations vote on a resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine three years ago.
This is historic for all the wrong reasons and gives more evidence (like any more was needed) that Donald Trump is an embarrassment to the American Presidency.
Arizona’s Congressional Democrats condemned Trump’s siding with Putin.
Representative Yassamin Ansari offered:
“In the three years since Russia’s illegal and brutal invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian people have shown immense strength and resilience. I will always stand with the people of Ukraine as they defend their country against authoritarianism.”

Senator Mark Kelly posted:
“On the third anniversary of Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine, President Trump is caving to Putin. This makes us weaker, hangs Ukraine out to dry as they fight for their homeland, and you are less safe because of this.”
In another post, Kelly said:
“The UN voted to adopt Ukraine’s resolution condemning Russian aggression and demanding the immediate withdrawal of Putin’s forces. How did the US vote? Inexplicably, the US voted NO alongside Russia, North Korea, and Belarus. What would Ronald Reagan think of this? I think I know.”
Senator Ruben Gallego stated:
“Three years since Russia’s invasion, the stakes are clear. We have no business bailing out Putin from his failing war. America must stand with Ukraine—because our allies and history are watching.”

Representative Greg Stanton posted on social media:
“Today marks three years of the Ukrainian people fighting for their freedom against Putin’s brutal, illegal invasion.
Yet in a shocking betrayal, the Trump Administration voted AGAINST a resolution at the United Nations condemning Russian aggression. America’s allies in Europe and around the world are watching in horror as Trump forsakes decades-old alliances in favor of autocrats and despots.”
