In summarizing her first four months as governor, Brewer said she had already "implemented the largest reduction in state government spending ever in the history of our state."
Brewer, who earlier had publicly toyed with rejecting some federal stimulus funding, also counted among her accomplishments applying for and distributing "the largest influx of federal funds in Arizona history." [bold face added]
Wow, Jan, you lowered state spending and increased federal funds! Very clever, making the Feds pay through the nose to keep the state afloat. I imagine other states didn't get stimulus funds, right? So how'd you pull it off? Did you get your friend the ex-guv to cut a few deals?
