Senate President Karen Fann and newly minted lawyer Senator Warren Petersen are the primary sponsors of the Arizona Senate’s bogus audit of Maricopa County’s 2020 ballots. Dubbed the “fraudit” on social media, the Senate’s “audit” of an election that has already been audited and certified is a dangerous joke that attempts to perpetuate the lie that President Donald Trump won the election.
From the beginning in December 2020, the Senate election audit has come under fire for being at least unnecessary and at worst a dangerous precedent. The audit has been criticized for a host of missteps including stunning lack of security for the ballots, hiring a non-election company Cyber Ninjas to do the audit, using unconventional ballot checking tactics to look for foreign tampering, limiting media access, live-streaming the event on a right-wing media channel, national fundraising by right-wing groups for the Arizona audit (and future conspiracy-based election audits in other states), and more. The list of irregularities so long that the audit has been compared to a clown circus. (Ironically, an actual clown circus was scheduled for the same venue while the audit was ongoing.)
The “fraudit” moniker is clever and well-deserved, but I agree with Secretary of State Katie Hobbs that the fraudit is no joke. It’s dangerous for our democracy. This process just perpetuates a lie.
I’m glad that Hobbs, Maricopa County Sherriff Paul Penzone, the Republicans on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors are pushing back against the Senate Republicans who are pushing the election fraud lies. Arizona media outlets have reported that not all Republican Senators are not all aligned with the Fann-Petersen fraudit fiasco.
I’m also glad that CNN finally nailed Fann for an interview. Check out the video below plus several news stories on the fraudit, beginning with Fann’s original press release from late 2020, when she and disgraced former Senator Eddie Farnsworth started the process. (Petersen replaced Farnsworth in the Senate.)

Here is what Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs has said about the audit. (Now you know why vindictive Republicans inserted language into the budget to strip Hobbs of some election powers. Why? Because she’s an efficient Democrat who does her job and speaks truth to power. The multilayered power grabs by Republican legislators is shocking.)

Barbara, not only is your sentence incomplete you misspelled “one”. As in Trump’s one disgusting POS whose loyalty is to himself. Lagging far behind is Putin & (possibly) his crotch fruit. In that order.
Trump won.
