It was hard to know what part of Josh Brodesky's train wreck column to be most infuriated about. I decided his coverage of the public-private partnership between Tucson and the Gadsden Company was the most egregious misrepresentation of the facts. So I conducted a long interview with Jerry Dixon, CEO Chairman [I misread my notes and gave Dixon the wrong title. I regret the error.] of Gadsden Company (Yes, bloggers sometimes do real interviewing and reporting) and am sorting through the information to put together an accurate post.
Short preview of coming attractions: Dixon feels his dealings with the city of Tucson have been grossly misrepresented by the Star.
To insure my reporting is accurate, I recorded our interview, with Dixon's approval. Dixon told me that last fall, he had an interview with Brodesky, who also recorded their session, then basically ignored the information and bashed Rio Nuevo and what he calls the flip land deal. I'll try to be more — what's the word I'm looking for — Reportorial? Journalistic? Honest?
