Convicted Trump VP contender Byron Donalds says life was Better for Black Americans During Jim Crow

MAGA surrogates for the Traitor-Convicted 34 times over Donald ‘I killed Roe v Wade’ and ‘I want to be Dictator for a Day’ Trump are the gift that keeps on giving for future Biden/Harris and Lincoln Project Ads.

This time, the gift giver is Florida House Representative and African American Byron Donalds, who in a trip to Philadelphia to stir up black male support for Donald ‘I was endorsed twice by former KKK head David Duke’ Trump, said that black people were better off in the Jim Crow era before Lyndon Johnson’s Civil Rights, Great Society, and War on Poverty programs corrupted their family values.

As reported by the Washington Post, Representative McDonald said that:

“You see, during Jim Crow, the Black family was together. During Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative — Black people have always been conservative-minded — but more Black people voted conservatively. And then H.E.W., [former president] Lyndon Johnson — you go down that road, and now we are where we are.”

McDonald’s refers to the former Health, Education, and Welfare Department (before it was divided into Health and Human Services and Education in the Carter Administration).

McDonald probably thinks the popular Head Start Pre-School Program, which was regulated by HEW, was bad for black family values.

The Biden/Harris Campaign immediately pounced on McDonald’s epic gaffe, posting on social media:

With his statements, McDonald demonstrated his historical illiteracy as well.

The major reason Blacks were conservative voters up until the Johnson/Humphrey Era was that the Republican Party was associated with Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War that resulted in the freeing of the slaves and the first attempts at Civil Rights.

It was after Lyndon Johnson secured the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, and popular antipoverty measures like Head Start that the Republican Party, largely thanks to the defection of Southern Democrat-Dixiecrats to their party ranks that most Blacks shifted their political allegiance to the Democratic Party.

Hopefully, Mr. McDonald will continue to make more speeches for Donald ‘I was endorsed twice by former KKK leader David Duke.”

It will help the Biden/Harris team more in their voter turnout efforts in November.
