Delores Huerta? Obama hates Paton and Horne and Huppenthal and Pearce

You have to wonder why Obama would award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Delores Huerta whose only claim to fame is saying "Republicans hate Latinos" at Tucson High, sparking the anti-Mexican American Studies movement.

Sure, she co-founded the National Farm Workers with César Chávez and has been a prominent advocate for farmworkers, immigrant rights and civil rights, earning a place in modern American history for her accomplishments. But (as I'm sure conservatives will tell us), this is Obama promoting radical socialism while he's sticking it to all those good, patriotic Republicans who rode their way into office on the back of Huerta's three words.

On a more serious note: Congratulations, Ms. Huerta, on your well deserved recognition by President Obama.
