In case there was any doubt, this 2024 election is about the soul of the country.
This is more so because the United States Supreme Court, in a 6 to 3 ruling, said that Donald Trump and all Presidents perform official acts, and most actions are presumed to be official unless the courts rule otherwise.

In her scathing dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor attacked the wisdom of the majority opinion, writing:
“Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune. Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune. Immune, immune, immune.
“Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends. Because if he knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority’s message today.
“Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done. The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.”
The United States Supreme Court, with two Justices (Alito and Thomas) that should have recused themselves, just made the stakes of The 2024 Election clear: It is a battle for the soul of the country.
Most of the case now goes back to the District Court, where an evidentiary hearing will be held to determine which of Mr. Trump’s crimes constitute unofficial vs official acts.
But here is the thing.
Hypothetically, given the provisions of today’s Court ruling, it is possible that a, God forbid, returned President Trump could send people to the home of his political enemies, real or imagined, have them detained in concentration camps or worse, declare his orders official acts because he would declare these people a clear and present danger, and wait for the courts to take months or years to sort through the legal arguments, leaving the innocent incarcerated or in dangerous peril.
That is, of course, if the judges overseeing these cases are not Trump-appointed rubber stamps while the other non-Trump ones have been removed through official acts.
Is that the country you want to live in?
Based on Donald Trump’s history and recent lie-filled and reality-denying debate performance, do you want him at the helm of the ship of state making those decisions?
Or any future President, for that matter.
I do not think so, and neither do the people invited to a press call for the Biden/Harris Campaign after the ruling.
January 6 Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn commented:
“Trump is still the single greatest threat to our Democracy. It was true yesterday. And it’s true even more even more especially after this ruling right now. We don’t need nine Supreme Court Justices to tell me that Donald Trump was responsible for January 6th. I was there. Those people that attacked us. They attacked us in his name on his orders. I was there when Donald Trump encouraged a mob of supporters to march on the Capital to try to overturn the results of a free and fair election. I remember it clearly while they were beating officers with flags. While they were there, they said they were there to stop the steal when we told them to leave. They said the President told us to come.”
House Representative Dan Goldman offered:
“The conflicted and compromised Supreme Court has set back our Democracy dramatically and it allows for someone like Donald Trump to conspire against us...It is a sweeping and devastating opinion for our separation of powers and for our fundamental belief and notion that no one is above the law…Donald Trump is out for Donald Trump and Donald Trump alone. He does not care about this country. He does not care about the American people. He cares solely about himself…It’s (Trump Presidency) not just the biggest threat in a generation. It is far and away the biggest threat since the Civil War. If Joe Biden is not elected in November, we will not have the Democracy that we have known for 250 years.”
House Representative Jasmine Crockett conveyed:
That (Supreme Court ruling) underscores the high stakes of this election. I think the entire election can be summarized in one single word. That word is freedom…The rest of us who care about this country when we say this election is about freedom. We’re talking about reproductive freedom, freedom to access the ballot box. Freedom to love who you want, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom to live the life you want to live. Today’s Supreme Court decision certainly didn’t change those stakes… They only made them higher because right now, all of our freedoms are under attack by the man who’s running for president or freedom from jail. And running on a promise to enact revenge on anyone who opposes him. We can’t underestimate Donald Trump’s threat or his dark vision for our future.
Biden/Harris Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks stated:
“Thanks to this ruling today by the Supreme Court, Trump’s affection for political violence has only grown. He’s promising to rule as a dictator. He’s been saying it for months…He’s talking about Bloodshed if he loses. Project 2025 makes it clear that he has a coordinated plan to replace civil servants with loyalists to him and only him to weaponize the Justice Department against its own citizens. We’ve seen them do it before and then stand up with the Bible, and in reading today, the opinion of those things will be considered quote official acts. Donald Trump could legally do that. Let me put a final point on this: this decision will give Donald Trump cover to do exactly what he’s been saying that he wants to do for months, which is an act of revenge and retribution against his political enemies. According to this decision, if it’s an official act to act, his Justice Department to jail his political opponents. He’s immune if it’s an official act to have his Homeland Security Department round up Latinos and detention camps and deport them from for no reason, he’d be immune for that. If it’s an official act to have his Vice President overturn the fair and free results of an election…“

Of course, the Trump Campaign (Can not include a Vice President’s name in there because his last one is not supporting him this time around) is spreading the falsehood that all the cases against him, including the 34 convictions in the hush money case in New York will or should now go away.
To all those deluded MAGA Trumpists out there. NOT HAPPENING.
It is time for the sane and reality-driven American populace to be afraid. Very afraid.
Again, imagine it is 3:00 a.m., and the door to your home breaks down, and you and your family are hauled away. Your supposed crime from Duce Trump? You have been a vocal opponent of me and, therefore, a traitor.
Or you are in a mosque, synagogue, or other Non-Christian House of Worship, and it is closed down because Mr. Trump, in a presumed official act, said all Non-Christian religions are now outlawed.
Or access to birth control. There has already been reporting that one of the recommendations from Project 2025 is that President Trump use the provisions of the Comstock Act to stop the availability of Mifepristone, the abortion bill.

Today’s Supreme Court ruling, coupled with the contents of Project 2025, has become more of a reality.
This election is about what the soul of the United States will be after 2024.
Voters need to recognize that and vote for candidates up and down the ballot who will promote democracy, inclusivity, and freedom, not fascism, exclusion, and repression.
For all those people who think it can not happen here: Newsflash! It is Happening.
The choice is yours.
Do not blow it. Vote this November and elect the candidates who support Democracy, Inclusion, and Freedom.
