Dr. Word asks: Has Lawrence O’Donnell given us a no-nonsense definition of the word “socialism”?

Lawrence O'Donnell is one of the only non-radical people Dr. Word has heard lately who has dared to declare himself a socialist. He's not for abolishing capitalism or nationalizing corporations. He's just saying, some of what we do in the country is socialistic, like Social Security and Medicare. Some of it is capitalist, like, well, like free enterprise. We're a mixed economy. Socialism is part of what we are.

It takes O'Donnell 7 minutes and change to get there, but he takes the left and the right out of the word "socialism" and explains how it works in the U.S.
