With a Presidential election year, Republican disarray in the House of Representatives (maybe they should put an ad out for a Speaker candidate that can get 217 votes,) MAGA posterboard candidate Kari Lake running for the Senate, and a potential state ballot initiative on reproductive freedom rights, Arizona Congressional District (CD) Six Representative Juan Ciscomani is not in a good place.
National Journal has just ranked his seat as the eleventh most likely to flip to Democrats. CD One Republican Representative David Schweikert is ranked number fifteen.
Commenting on the potential to unseat Ciscomani, 2022 Democratic CD Six Nominee and probable 2024 one Kirsten Engel issued a statement that read:
“Arizonans deserve a leader committed to finding common-sense solutions to everyday problems – like lowering costs, creating better-paying jobs, and protecting reproductive freedom. My opponent Juan Ciscomani is not that leader.
“Rather than focus on the issues that matter most, my opponent has catered to the fringe of our politics to ban abortion nationwide, defund law enforcement agencies, and make cuts to Social Security and privatize Medicare.
“Momentum continues to grow for our campaign – and we will not stop spreading our message to Arizonans and holding Juan Ciscomani accountable until November 2024 when we bring common-sense back to Congress.”
Arizona is going to be one of the electoral vital centers of 2024 on the Presidential, Senatorial, Congressional, and local legislative level.
Who controls most of the levers of power in those seats will be up for grabs.
Voters need to pay attention and evaluate which candidates will best serve them, move the state and nation forward, and work to lift people up.
At this stage, it is probably not hard to discern which party candidates will do that.

Now that Ciscomani has a record to run against, I like her chances. Have also heard that the former President of the Navajo Nation has announced against Crane.
