Az Dems Legislative Update with Senator Sundareshan and Rep. De los Santos, also at DGT

“Please join us for a fact-packed update on the Arizona State Legislative session from Democratic Caucus Leaders Priya Sundareshan (Senate Minority Leader) and Oscar De Los Santos (House Minority Leader). They will discuss the now pending (and by then – hopefully – passed) state budget, and the good, the bad, and the ugly of this year’s legislative session, as well as take your questions. Discussion will begin ~12:15 pm, following the election for our new DGT Secretary. NOTE that this is THE SAME Zoom meeting as the Secretary Election, you need not register for both.

Priya Sundareshan is the Arizona State Senator for LD18 and serves as the Minority Leader in the Arizona Senate for the Democratic Caucus, and Chairperson of the ADLCC. 

Priya was a law professor at the University of Arizona and the Director of the Natural Resource Use and Management Clinic at the University of Arizona. She appreciates the importance of making science-based decisions, especially to preserve the environment. Earlier, she was an attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund in Washington, D.C., where she advocated for sustainable federal fisheries management.

Oscar De Los Santos serves as the Arizona State Representative for District 11  and the Minority Leader in the Arizona House for the Democratic Caucus. 

Born to working-class immigrant parents, Oscar has dedicated his life and career to public service and progressive values. As a teacher at a low-income school in South Phoenix, he’s been on the frontlines of the fight for better-funded schools and better teacher pay.

Oscar has been recognized locally and internationally for his leadership. He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, earned a master of public policy at the University of Oxford, and was invited by the White House to a private meeting with President Obama.”
