“Dear Lovers of Good Song,

May is a month filled with many tributes and birthdays. In May, one hundred and six years ago, Peter Seeger was born. He grew up to be one of the forces to change the face of world culture. He did it partially by clinging to the belief that a lot of it didn’t need changing at all. Some did.   It all could be celebrated.   Tirelessly, and seeming effortlessly, in spite of opposition, he continued creating space for generations to go through the doors he opened. Reminding everyone of the fun and power of working and singing together. That undying belief that we all have a song to share and it makes us all better for it…that courage within that we can’t do without.

At the Pima Friends Meeting Hall, on May 18, Ted Warmbrand will lead a tribute to Pete and the many songs he taught Ted and all of us .  (” If I Had a Hammer,  Guantanamera, Wimoweh, Where Have All The Flowers Gone, This Land is Your Land, Solidarity Forever, Down By The Riverside,  Turn Turn Turn”…etc etc etc)

Join us, won’t you? ITZABOUTIME, Ted Warmbrand

Carolyn’s note: My husband and I attended the last Community Sing, and it was uplifting and fun to sing the existential songs from my youth. We need musical diversions like this during these trying times under the Trump Administration.
