“Please join us for a conversation with Edgar Soto, Democratic candidate for Pima County Supervisor, District 3. Because of the increased interest of local candidates in appearing and a limited schedule, we are holding this Noon Zoom on SUNDAY, July 7th. Mr. Soto is competing in the very competitive four-way Democratic primary for nomination in District 3 to permanently replace retired Supervisor Sharon Bronson, and appointed interim Supervisor Sylvia Lee.

Mr. Soto describes himself and his campaign:
Educator
With over 30 years of experience as an educator, I bring a wealth of practical knowledge as a candidate for Pima County Supervisor. Unlike a career politician, I am a practitioner who has interacted with students, understanding their stories and dreams. My expertise enables me to prepare our students for success and advocate for their futures.
Coach
My roles as a baseball coach and athletic director at Pima Community College and my involvement with USA Baseball have ingrained in me the value of teamwork and collaboration toward a common goal. This experience uniquely qualifies me to serve on the Pima County Board of Supervisors, where I’ll bring a team-oriented mindset to address our community’s challenges effectively.
Deep Roots
My deep roots in Pima County, where my family has resided for generations, speak to a profound connection to our community. As a proud local, I often say, “We didn’t cross any borders; the borders crossed us.” This intimate understanding of our history and needs uniquely qualifies me to serve on the Pima County Board of Supervisors, ensuring our community’s interests are well-represented.”
Carolyn’s note: This is a 4 way Dem primary for the open seat after long term Supervisor Sharon Bronson retired last year, and Dr. Sylvia Lee was appointed as a place holder till Dec. 2024. Jen Allen, Miguel Cuevas, April Ignacio and Edgar Soto are all running in the Arizona primary on July 30, 2024. There is a Republican also running in the General election.
