Jackie says of herself and her campaign:
Hi, I’m Jackie O’Donnell Anderson, and I have come out of retirement to run for the Arizona State Legislature in District LD 19. I have been a resident of southeastern Pima County since 1995, moving here to be closer to my mother in Green Valley. I live in a rural community with my daughter, along with our dogs, cats, horses, mules, and chickens. With 42 years of experience as an Emergency Department RN, including 19 years at a critical access hospital in Arizona, I am deeply committed to serving our community.
I am running for office because I am tired of the chaos in our current Arizona State Legislature. Arizonans deserve better, and I want to be the voice for the LD19 voters. My values reflect my capacity for empathy and my vision for humanity. I envision a better Arizona for all, where everyone can achieve the life they dream of for themselves and their families. Justice, truth, and peace for all.
As I embark on my campaign, my top priorities are healthcare and public education. I am concerned about the access and affordability of healthcare, especially with the upcoming Medicaid/AHCCCS cuts in 2026, which threaten the services of critical access hospitals in District LD-19. Additionally, I am focused on ensuring accountability in the AZ Voucher system, making sure our tax dollars are truly benefiting our children’s education.”
Carolyn’s note: LD 19 House is currently represented by two incumbent Republicans, Rep. Gail Griffin and Rep. Lupe Diaz.
