About Josh and his campaign:
We all see what’s happening to our state and our country. The AZGOP is selling off our state for scrap. The people of Arizona deserve better and that is why Joshua Polacheck is running to be your next Arizona Democratic Party Chair. He understands that our Party needs leadership that will meet this historical moment.
A son of the rural West, he grew up with an immigrant mother and a father in the Indian Health Service attending public schools on tribal nations. Tucson became his home during middle school, and after college he was commissioned into Foreign Service. For nearly two decades, he fought authoritarianism, led rapid response communications and built pro-democracy coalitions. He left federal service because of the 2016 election. After graduating with an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, he returned to Tucson as the ED of Pima Dems in 2020-21 and was a Democratic nominee for the ACC in 2024. He has raised nearly $1 million for Democratic campaigns, managed several staffs with dozens of employees, and appeared as a spokesperson over a thousand times. A retired union member and former elected shop steward, he lives in Tucson with his family, enjoys rock climbing and Co-Leads Girl Scouts Troop #446. He’s excited to lead us to victory in 2026 and beyond and has asked me (?) to remind us:
Let’s be proud to be Democrats.”
Carolyn’s note: Joshua did run as one of the 3 Dem nominees for Az Corporation Commission in Nov. 2024, came in 6th in a 6 way race with the 3 Republican candidates prevailing. He is facing opponent former LD 4 State House Rep. Charlene Fernandez for AZ Dems Chair. More about Joshua: https://www.joshuaforarizona.com/. He currently serves as one of the 6 Vice Chairs of the Arizona Democratic Party. Kim Khoury is Acting Chair, following the ouster of Robert Branscomb in July, 2025. https://azdem.org/party-leaders/
