Stephanie says about her campaign:

Stephanie Stahl Hamilton is an Arizonan having spent her early childhood years on Navajo Tribal Lands.  She is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA and serves as a Parish Associate at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church.  Married for 26 years, Stephanie and her husband Derek have three children in Tucson where they settled after Stephanie completed her Masters of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary.  Stephanie’s faith and love for her community drove her extensive involvement from coaching cross country to coordinating the after-school garden program, to working in the schools as a substitute teacher, even serving on the Site Council and PTO. The more she was involved in the Tucson community and public schools the more she saw that a lack of investment in public education adversely affects all Arizonans. Stephanie has worked as an advocate for public education including serving as the Regional Lead for Save Our Schools in 2018 to stop expansion and the lack of regulation in the voucher expansion system. She served on TUSD’s Family Life Curriculum Committee, dedicating hundreds of hours reviewing and revising the curriculum to be medically accurate and comprehensive.  She was first  elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2020.”

Carolyn’s note: Stephanie represented LD 10 House (elected Nov. 2020) for a year and half, then appointed to LD 10 State Senate. Due to redistricting she then ran for House in LD 21 and elected in Nov. 2022. She is facing a 3 way race for 2 House seats in LD 21, with other incumbent Rep. Consuelo Hernandez and political newcomer attorney Briana Ortega. Hernandez is sister to LD 20 Rep. Alma Hernandez and former then-LD 2 Rep. Daniel Hernandez Jr.
