Born and raised in Bisbee, Arizona, James is a proud Bisbee High School graduate who began his public service career early — starting as an entry-level employee with the Cochise County Clerk of Superior Court in 2007.
In 2011, and after completing paralegal school at the University of Arizona, he relocated to Tucson to join the Pima County Clerk’s Office, advancing quickly from Courtroom Clerk to Supervisor, Division Director, and finally Associate Clerk of Court in 2022 before his gubernatorial appointment in 2025. With over 15 years of experience, James now leads an office of over 180 employees across three locations, managing an annual budget of over $13 million with transparency, accountability, and innovation.
James is now seeking an additional term as your Clerk of Superior Court in the 2026 election cycle.”
