“Project Blue is a proposed billion-dollar economic development initiative that could bring multiple data centers to the Greater Tucson region. Its proposed location is west of Houghton Road, north of the Pima County Fairgrounds. This project raises questions about water usage, energy demands, long-term community benefit, and transparency.  Pima County has published this FAQ page about Project Blue Project Blue FAQ | Pima County, AZ.  The City of Tucson has also published a comprehensive Facts and Information on their website.

On June 17, 2025, Pima County Supervisors voted 3-2 to approve a Purchase-Sale Agreement (PSA) with Beale Infrastructure to build a technology campus intended to help meet the massive demand for digital infrastructure in the United States. The total investment by the company is estimated at more than $3.6 billion. Pima County District 1 Supervisor voted in favor of this project.  Supervisor Scott released this statement regarding his vote here:  https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/AZPIMA/bulletins/3e57f16
