Protest to Protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid

As Congressman Jamie Raskin says, “A Protest a Day, Keeps the Fascist Away.”

STAND STRONG – SPEAK UP.”

“Time to make some new signs! “People NEEDS over Billionaire GREED!” “I’m for Medicaid!” “Save our Social Security!” You guys are creative so let those juices flow! Bring some of your “used” signs as well!

Parking: The SSA is on the east side of 1st Ave. The street that borders Sonic Drive-in (Sonic is the next building south of SSA) is Pastime Rd. There is plenty of parking on Pastime Rd. east of 1st Ave and particularly west of 1st Ave . There is also parking north of SSA on Knox Drive east or west. Additionally, behind the SSA building there is a fairly large parking lot.

Safety: Our main safety message is as follows. If you park west of 1st Ave , remain and protest on the sidewalk west of 1st Ave, that is across the street from SSA. If you park east of 1st Ave, on the same side as SSA, then protest on the sidewalk in front of SSA. We need people on both sides of 1st Ave with their signs. DO NOT CROSS THE STREET. There is no crosswalk and the traffic is continuous; it is dangerous to stand in the middle turn lane. Please stay on the same side that you parked your car. DO NOT CROSS 1ST AVE PLEASE.“
