12 hours on Saturday April 11,2020 (8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
UPDATE: I apologize I guess I had the date wrong, as it’s not on April 12, but the 11th. Regardless, just go out there & plog, even on April 12. Thanks.
“Getting your essential exercise is Oddyly important, especially during this time of sheltering in place. So, while you are out on your jog, why not plog?
Plogging is a Swedish exercise that combines jogging or brisk walking with picking up trash. Our goal is to get at least 50 of our RRN members picking up trash while you’re out exercising on Saturday, April 11th, along your neighborhood street, or local arroyo or creek. When it rains, trash moves from our streets to our creeks, so picking up trash on your streets is just as important as along our creeks.
Register for this event at Watershedmg.org/plogging to let us know you are participating. And then show us what you picked up! Post a picture of the trash you collected on your social media and use #StewardInPlace, #RiverRunNetwork, and #WMG to encourage others to do the same while they are out as well!”
Carolyn’s note: I no longer jog, but I can still walk for exercise, so I will pledge to do this plogging on April 12, around my neighborhood. I’ll just take a plastic bag and gloves, and pick up trash. Then I’ll return home and wash my hands. Please join in this effort to clean up our neighborhoods, as we shelter in place during this COVID 19 outbreak/pandemic.

A day late, but of no matter. My husband and I just exercised for 45 minutes plogging, picking up trash around the alleys of our neighborhood and elementary school nearby. It was very rewarding as we got a few bags of mostly plastic trash, and one aluminum can which we recycled into a blue bin. Hope others joined in too. Other photos on WMG’s FB page.
