Fillmore and Hoffman Show Arizonans Again How Historically and Scientifically Ignorant Many Republicans in the State Legislature Are

Remember when Legislative District (LD)Six State Senator Wendy Rogers made comments equating the COVID Vaccine with the Mark of the Beast.

Well Arizona Republican (Repulsive may be a more accurate descriptor) Representatives John Fillmore (LD 16) and Jake Troll Farm Hoffman (LD 12) made statements yesterday at a hearing considering the prohibition of government vaccine mandates (HB2498)that come close (believe it or not) to rivaling Rogers in absurdity.

Filmore, a representative from Legislative District 16, commented to a lobbyist representing the states only government operated hospital that requiring vaccine mandates was like the Nazi’s tattooing the Jews starting in 1933.

This is not the first time Fillmore has equated COVID health policy with victims of Nazi persecution.

On Labor Day in 2020, the LD 16 Representative made a similar comment to yesterday, stating that mask requirements for the Coronavirus were also equivalent to the Nazi’s putting tattoos on their Jewish and other concentration camp victims.

The memory of that earlier comment may have been on Fillmore’s mind at the hearing because he said he might “get in trouble” with what he would say.

You think? To equate trying to save people’s lives by requiring you get vaccinated is nowhere near the same as what the Nazi’s did to the people they persecuted.

Earlier, Mr. Hoffman decried government efforts to impose “a nanny state” on the people by mandating COVID 19 vaccinations, stating that is not government’s job and where are mandates for other health procedures like chemotherapy for cancer patients.

Arizona House Democrats pounce on the Hoffman and Fillmore Comments.

It took less than ten minutes for staff and others for the Arizona House Democrats to issue social media rebukes on the Hoffman and Fillmore comments.

On Hoffman, the staff for the House Democrats posted:

In a word to to support the staff response: duh. Hoffman really showed his ignorance of science with his anti vaccine mandate comments.

On Fillmore, two posts demonstrate the disgust for his historically ignorant comments.

Probably the best response to Fillmore’s statement was this posting by Kurt Cooper on social media:

Please click on the video link below to see both Republicans make these preposterous comments. Hoffmans start at 5:40 into the video and Filmore’s at 5:52.

The comments of Fillmore and Hoffman along with the earlier ones made by Rogers should demonstrate again to all Arizona Residents that these individuals are very historically and scientifically illiterate.

No wonder they are warring on teaching accurate history in schools or denying the science behind COVID 19.

They know virtually nothing about either.

These individuals have no business formulating most policies related to health or education.

Voters should remember these comments when voting in the next November elections.
