Freedom Summer event Sunday: History and Impact of the TUSD Deseg Case

Tucson Freedom Summer continues its program of events Sunday, July 29 with "a presentation by Sylvia Compoy titled "The History and Impact of the TUSD Desegregation Case in Tucson." The event will be from 5pm-7pm at the John Valenzuela Youth Center, 1550 S. 6th Avenue. According to the Media Advisory:

Sylvia Compoy, a long time educator and advocate for Chicano/Latino youth, will lend her expertise in a historical analysis of the impact of the 30 year federal desegregation order upon TUSD. This information will serve as an excellent foundation for understanding the importance of the pending Unitary Status Plan that will be revealed by the federal court in September.
