Gallego and Ansari React to EPA Moving to Rescind Regulations on Making Sure the Air We Breathe is Safe and Clean

People should ask the question. What is more important: being able to breathe safe and clean air or paying less for a car that generates more in greenhouse emissions into the atmosphere?

I know what my answer would be.

I like the ability to breathe clean and safe air.

So should everyone else.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump’s Know Nothing Science and Climate Change denying leaders at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is about to take the nation and the world backward in its fight to combat pollution by rescinding, in the name of corporate deregulation and lowering costs, the Obama era legal opinion known as “the Endangerment Finding” which formalizes the common sense conclusion that greenhouse gases are bad for public health.

In a word duh. This is settled science and only the know nothing knowledge denying cultists in MAGA seem to think otherwise.

In comments reported by the Washington Post, EPA head Lee Zeldin said:
“We do not have that power on our own to decide as an agency that we are going to combat global climate change because we give ourselves that power.”

Based on that logic, what the hell do we have an EPA for?

Like what Trump and his MAGA-Project 2025 apostates-imbeciles are doing with the Department of Education, USAID, NPR-PBS, FEMA, NOAA, and NASA, the gutting and dissolution of EPA is what they are striving for.

Anything based on promoting knowledge and based in scientific reality is primed for the chopping block in this Project-2025 Back to the Dirty Smoke Power Plant Gilded Age Fascist ‘Information is bad’ regime.

Remember it was Republican Richard Nixon who created the EPA in 1970.

How far down the well of ignorance and stupidity the members of the modern Republican Party have fallen in their war on science started in the Bush II Administration.

Reacting to the EPA move to rescind the Endangerment Finding, Phoenix Mayor and the current head of Climate Mayors, Kate Gallego issued a joint statement with fellow Climate Mayor members Lauren McLean from Boise and Andre Dickens from Atlanta that read:

“Today’s actions by the Trump Administration fail to protect Americans’ health and wellbeing—the most basic responsibility of government. Undermining EPA’s ability to protect people from pollutants is a rejection of science and common sense. The regulations that the Administration is undermining have resulted in better air quality in communities across the country and are central to America’s ability to prevent the worst impacts of climate change.

This retreat from science-based standards will result in increasingly intense summer heat, unpredictable rainfall patterns resulting in floods and drought, and economic harm and health impacts to American families. Mayors will not back down from our mission to safeguard our residents’ health and build better, safer, and more affordable cities.”

Arizona House Representative Yassamin Ansari, a strong advocate for combatting adverse climate change and clean energy sustainable alternatives wrote on social media:

“The Endangerment Finding is the legal foundation for nearly every EPA action to reduce climate pollution. Undermining it threatens EPA’s ability to protect us from climate pollution at all, and the health of our families, communities, and future generations is at stake.”

Remember everyone, without clean and safe breathable air, all concerns about paying more for energy efficient cars and corporate regulations become moot.

Why?

Because we would all be dead.

Why can not Trump and his Project 2025 MAGA science denying cultists at the EPA and the rest of his ‘Knowledge is bad’ government get that?
