It's after 6pm, so Day 2 of the G.I. Guarantee Watch comes to a close. Still no reply from Matthew Ladner to my second request that the Goldwater Institute honor its written guarantee and note on its website that Ladner made an error in one of his Daily Emails.
I didn't mention in my Day 1 post that I cc'd Darcy Olsen, President and CEO of G.I., on both emails to Ladner. Interestingly, when he replied, saying he was kinda wrong and he wouldn't do it again, he didn't include Olsen in the email. What, did he think this was just between him and me, man to man?
I admit, people reading about this incident might say I'm making a big deal about a small error (If you missed the Day 1 post, it discusses what Ladner wrote). My reply is, if it's a small error, it should be no big deal for G.I. to put a correction on its website. Newspapers do it on a daily basis, with errors far less important than this one.
Parent X had an interesting comment on the Day 1 post:
Ladner's propaganda has been getting pretty sloppy as of late, and I have been wondering if anyone 'in-house' at Goldwater is maybe raising an eye or two about assertions.
I have to agree. Ladner has stayed faithfully on message, but he's gotten lazy. His leaps of logic have been jaw dropping of late, like he's not really trying. But maybe that doesn't matter at G.I. so long as you keep getting speaking engagements and the media continues asking for your "expert analysis."
