This evening, Governor Tim Walz also arrived in Phoenix. He will be participating in Get Out the Vote events in the Phoenix and Tucson areas on Wednesday. He was greeted at Sky Harbor by Corporation Commissioner Anna Tovar, Representative Greg Stanton, Mesa Mayor John Giles, Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, and Jimmy McCain, the son of the late Senator and 2008 Republican Presidential Nominee.

On Thursday, Vice President Harris will arrive and hold get-out-the-vote rallies over a two-day visit.

First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will be in Yuma and the Phoenix area this Saturday.

According to a Harris/Walz Press Release, the Arizona Campaign is launching an intensive get-out-the-early-vote initiative this week including:

  • “Nearly 6,000 people have already signed up to canvass and phone bank this week across more than 207 events happening across the state.
  • Next weekend will be the campaign’s biggest weekend of action to date in Arizona, with more than 7,500 canvass and phone banking shifts already scheduled.”

These efforts are on top of the Harris/Walz Campaign Drive to build a united coalition of diverse groups across party lines in the Grand Canyon State to motivate and turn out the vote from when early voting starts tomorrow until election day on November 5, 2024.

  1. We’d love to go to see Gov. Walz, or even join the Bus Tour with the First Lady but we are no longer as tolerant of the heat as when we were younger. Come back in a couple weeks for the heat intolerant, Gov. Walz!
