Grijalva’s Restore the American Dream for the 99% Act

Raúl Grijalva and other members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus have put together the Restore the American Dream for the 99% Act. The bill is a natural progression from the People's Budget Grijalva took a lead role in writing earlier this year.

Here is how he summarizes the bill:

The bill, which I wrote with my colleagues in the Congressional Progressive Caucus, reins in our overseas war and defense spending and puts the savings directly into putting people back on the job, not cutting corporate taxes or giving money to oil and gas companies. The bill ensures that billionaires finally pay their fair share to get our fiscal house back in order instead of asking working families to sacrifice even more. Wall Street got a bailout and pocketed your money. Now it’s time for Congress to think about you, your family and our community. The Restore the American Dream for the 99% Act makes sure that happens.
