Many happy returns to Mitt Romney's landmark health care legislation. It's five years old today.
No, Mr. President, don't be angry. Mitt was first. Fair's fair.
And Mitt, we haven't shirked in expressing our gratitude for the important work you've done in providing health care to all citizens of Massachusetts and setting the standard for the country.
Hundreds of people have responded to promptings from the Democratic National Committee and Democratic state operations in Massachusetts and across New England to flood Twitter with notes thanking Mr. Romney for being “the founding father of health care reform” and the inspiration behind Obamacare.
Some liberal groups are hosting celebration parties. DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse has peppered Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom with Tweets asking if the Romney camp can recommend any celebrations. Exhibit A is a photo showing the late Sen. Edward Kennedy at Mr. Romney’s side for the governor’s signing of the health bill.
