How American Duce Wannabe Trump and MAGA Has Twisted Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms According to Cartoonist Mike Luckovich

In the months before the United States entry into World War Two, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in his annual State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress, articulated the need for Americans and citizens of the world, many of whom were falling victim to totalitarian regimes like Japan, the Soviet Union, Germany, and Italy, to enjoy the Four Freedoms.

These freedoms are:

Freedom of speech and expression
Freedom of worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear

One would think that in the Twenty First Century, people in most developed countries would live in environments where these four freedoms were common place and accepted.

Unfortunately, this is the Age of growing Authoritarianism with American Duce Wannabe, Felon in Chief, and Serial Liar Donald Trump in the United States and the ascendent no care plutocratic one percent.

Unfortunately, with the Trump/Vance and MAGA-Supply Side rob from the poor and give to the rich budget and its attacks on anyone not white, Christian, and male, this editorial cartoon is very much accurate and on point.

Hopefully the American People who, despite the first term track record and afterward, thought Trump was the safer bet for them over Kamala Harris, now recognize their mistake and will turn out in future elections, provided we are allowed to, to restore the purpose of the Four Freedoms the way President Roosevelt envisioned.
