If Hillary Clinton Should Testify Before Congress, Republicans, if they Believed in Law and Order, Should Welcome Donald Trump Doing It Too

The January 6,2021, Select Committee did the right thing by subpoenaing the twice impeached, twice popular vote loser, twice David Duke endorsed, and driving force behind the domestic terrorist-insurrectionist attack on the Nation’s Capitol.

Donald Trump should be compelled to testify and prosecuted for obstruction of  Congress if he does not attend. If he is convicted, he should be locked up for his crimes against the Republic.

What is more essential is that those same Republicans in Congress like Kevin McCarthy and all those other Trump enablers/collaborators that coddled the fascist traitor for the last six years should be forced to go on the record and state whether they support the subpoena of the 45th Oval Office Occupant.

These same individuals who said it was essential for Hillary Clinton to testify over the Benghazi attack should not have a hypocritical/double standard for their Duce, Donald Trump.

If these Trump Republicans are all about law and order and truly believe the Mad King is innocent, they should all welcome the opportunity for Donald Trump to testify and offer his perspective about the rabble that attacked the Nation’s Capitol in his name. That is if they truly believe in law and order and that Donald Trump is innocent.

If he has nothing to hide and he believes right on his side, Donald Trump should have no problem appearing before the January 6 Select Committee and testifying without taking the fifth.

If Hillary Clinton had to do it, Donald Trump, if he is the “man” he claims he is, should be able to do it as well.

  1. I offered you an opt out prior to the comment about your ancestors, but still you persisted.

And since you read that far it’s odd you have no notes on the email explanation I gave.

For the record, if HRC or Biden or whoever it tried and found guilty, I’m all good with locking them up.

Didn’t Hillary get 10 years hard time for Benghazi? No? But you guys had 2 years of non-stop hearings…

Maybe those were just for show, huh? 60 people died in embassies under Bush and your team said nada.

    Hypocrites indeed.

FYI, I save the ethnic slurs for friends of JT Ready and Russell Pearce.

It was posted ironically, because you’re a racist and who likes to lie about and terrorize refugees.

Obligatory – RaicesTexasDotOrg, donate in Honor of Arizona Rep John Kavanagh.

He’s someone who’s grams and gramps would probably have been helped by Raices, because they provide free or low cost legal help to immigrants.

  2. Even if it was, so what?????

To quote the N.Y. Times, “Only two Democrats opposed the article on abuse of power, which accused Mr. Trump of corruptly using the levers of government to solicit election assistance from Ukraine in the form of investigations to discredit his Democratic political rivals.”

So you believe that the Democrats should not have impeached Trump on that count??????????? Brave of you to say that on this anti-Trump blog. You are no hypocrite!!!

    • No Donald Trump should have been impeached on both counts and Blue Meanine is right in his assertions that the Republican Party from Nixon, Reagan, Bush, and Trump seem to have no problem committing questionable and/or treasonous acts in order to obtain or keep power.

  3. I’m going to assume that a nasty ethnic slur doesn’t get the same response from the administrator as my pointing out the hypocrisy of some people’s positions.

  4. I have a comment in mod jail, “A Legit Reply to JK”.

This is an example of the issue I address in that comment.

“Yesterday Parler put out an email about Kayne West buying the social media site out. Parler forgot to BCC all of the accounts. Every verified account got doxxed. What an incredible move from this failing right wing site.”

At some companies I’ve worked at, anything I needed to send to everyone in the company had to go through CorpComm review.

Parler may want to consider such a policy.

People, especially old people, do stupid s41+ with email.

  5. Ivanka and Jared Kushner and half the White House staff under T4ump were using their own personal email for work, and during the Clinton email fluff up all the GOP folks in Congress whining about her had their own personal email addresses, some of them listed them on their business cards for all the world to see.

Maybe they should join Kavanagh’s Hypocrites Anonymous group, too.

“Hi, my name I Jared, and I’m a crook, just like my dad, the convicted felon”.

    Hi Jared.

Jared Kushner was also using his personal WhatsApp account for official business.

WhatsApp is especially problematic because it’s a Meta/Facebook product, meaning Mark Zuckerberg was data mining Kushner’s account.

I’m not saying Zuckerberg was reading over Jared’s shoulder, but…

I think Hillary Clinton is unfit for office because she gives speeches to Wall Street at 250K a pop and won’t tell us what she told them, and because she calls war criminal Henry Kissinger a friend.

There’s the super-predator racist thing and some thoughtless things she did and said when trying to get her healthcare plan through as well.

Those are not progressive ideals, but they are things that Republicans like (aside from the healthcare thing), so they don’t attack her for them.

They scream about Benghazi and her emails.

I started my IT career a few decades ago as an email admin. People screw up with email because they don’t understand how it actually works.

At the investment bank I work at now, we run software that reads every outgoing email looking for anything that should be confidential. We train people.

We send reminders, in their email, all year long.

    And users still screw up.

I know better, I’ve written the policies, and sometimes I mess up.

Bleachbit is free software an email admin would use to properly delete files. Note the word “properly”.

If you understand how computers actually work, you know that just clicking “delete” doesn’t actually delete anything.

Mitt Romney had all the hard drives in his office, over 100, physically destroyed, when he left the Massachusetts governorship.

Maybe he should join Kavanagh’s Hypocrites Anonymous group.

“Hi, I’m Mitt Romney, my grandparents lived in Mexico and had sister wives and I have binders full of women”.

    Hi Mitt.

The HRC email scandal could be boiled down to “someone’s grandma doesn’t know how computing stuff works”.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled pledge week…if you’re reading, Troll Boy, you can change the channel now.

Immigrants like Kavanagh’s grandparents who came here about 100 years ago.

I assume they were dirty drunken Irish? Either way, they should have gone back and fixed their own country before coming here.

    Common sense, right?

  6. I am pointing out the double standard. Prosecute Trump but give Hillary and Biden a pass. What about Biden and his Saudi ask for an election delay? Are you ok with that?

    • The last time I looked Biden and Hillary did not launch a traitorous domestic terrorist-insurrectionist attack on our Republic and the Capitol Police trying to protect it. Comey cleared Clinton. Again, unlike Trump, she was adult and brave enough to testify before both the F.B.I. and the Benghazi Committee. While I do not agree with your interpretation of what President Biden was trying to negotiate with the Sauds, even if it was, so what. He would not be the first President who worked the international scene to secure political benefits at home. In a word, duh.

    • What about Richard Nixon and “the Chennault Affair,” in which Nixon committed treason to win the 1968 eection? “When a Candidate Conspired With a Foreign Power to Win An Election”, https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/08/06/nixon-vietnam-candidate-conspired-with-foreign-power-win-election-215461/ See also “George Will Confirms Nixon’s Vietnam Treason”,https://www.commondreams.org/views/2014/08/12/george-will-confirms-nixons-vietnam-treason
Nixon’s sabotage of the Vietnam peace talks was confirmed by transcripts of FBI wiretaps. On November 2, 1968, LBJ received an FBI report saying Chernnault told the South Vietnamese ambassador that “she had received a message from her boss: saying the Vietnamese should “hold on, we are gonna win.”

As Will confirms, Vietnamese did “hold on,” the war proceeded and Nixon did win, changing forever the face of American politics—with the shadow of treason permanently embedded in its DNA.

The treason came in 1968 as the Vietnam War reached a critical turning point. President Lyndon Johnson was desperate for a truce between North and South Vietnam.

LBJ had an ulterior motive: his Vice President, Hubert Humphrey, was in a tight presidential race against Richard Nixon. With demonstrators in the streets, Humphrey desperately needed a cease-fire to get him into the White House.

Johnson had it all but wrapped it. With a combination of gentle and iron-fisted persuasion, he forced the leaders of South Vietnam into an all-but-final agreement with the North. A cease-fire was imminent, and Humphrey’s election seemed assured.

But at the last minute, the South Vietnamese pulled out. LBJ suspected Nixon had intervened to stop them from signing a peace treaty.

In the Price of Power (1983), Seymour Hersh revealed Henry Kissinger—then Johnson’s adviser on Vietnam peace talks—secretly alerted Nixon’s staff that a truce was imminent.

According to Hersh, Nixon “was able to get a series of messages to the Thieu government [of South Vietnam] making it clear that a Nixon presidency would have different views on peace negotiations.”

Johnson was livid. He even called the Republican Senate Minority Leader, Everett Dirksen, to complain that “they oughtn’t be doing this. This is treason.”

More Whataboutism: What about Reagan-Bush secretly intefering with the Iran hostage negotiations to win the 1980 election? “Ronald Reagan’s “October Surprise” Plot Was Real After All”, https://jacobin.com/2020/01/ronald-reagan-october-surprise-carter-iran-hostage-crisis-conspiracy

A batch of quietly released documents confirms what many have long suspected: Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign worked behind the scenes to delay the release of US hostages in Iran, for the benefit of Reagan’s election campaign. It raises the question: When was the last time a Republican won a presidential election without the help of dirty tricks?

[N]early seventeen years after the House October Surprise Task Force concluded that the whole idea was bunk, an outlet no less venerable than the New York Times has turned that conclusion on its head. Just three days out from a new decade, the Times published what in any other era would have been a bombshell story based on documents donated to Yale from the offices of David Rockefeller, the former chairman of Chase Manhattan Corporation.

Ostensibly a story about how Rockefeller and Chase worked behind the scenes to win their client, the repressive Shah of Iran, safe haven in the United States, this nugget appears about halfway through:

[T]he team around Mr. Rockefeller, a lifelong Republican with a dim view of Mr. Carter’s dovish foreign policy, collaborated closely with the Reagan campaign in its efforts to pre-empt and discourage what it derisively labeled an “October surprise” — a pre-election release of the American hostages, the papers show.

The Chase team helped the Reagan campaign gather and spread rumors about possible payoffs to win the release, a propaganda effort that Carter administration officials have said impeded talks to free the captives.

“I had given my all” to thwarting any effort by the Carter officials “to pull off the long-suspected ‘October surprise,’” Mr. Reed wrote in a letter to his family after the election, apparently referring to the Chase effort to track and discourage a hostage release deal. He was later named Mr. Reagan’s ambassador to Morocco.
“Mr. Reed” was Joseph Reed Jr, Rockefeller’s chief of staff, who mandated that the documents should stay sealed until Rockefeller’s death, which came in 2017. It’s not hard to see why.

Critics will quibble that these documents don’t prove the actual specifics of the long-alleged “October Surprise.” This is true. According to the Times, they don’t show Reagan striking a deal with the Iranians to delay the release of the American hostages until after the election, but simply working behind the scenes to thwart negotiations to free them. Perhaps someone out there exists who thinks this is better.

It was not mere coincidence that the embassy hostages were released at the same time Reagan was inaugurated president.

  7. You are going to take your football and go home because I upset you? What are we in the fourth grade? You seem to have thin skin.

  8. What would happen to me if I gave my name and address John? What is the point you’re trying to make?

    That I should be scared?

Of you? Go back to Jersey.

RaicesTexasDotOrg, give In Honor of Arizona Rep John Kavanagh, who really is trying his bestest to troll like a big boy.

Okay, I gotta admit, his note to me is pretty funny. Not the way he wanted. LOL.

  9. David, how about some posts with these headlines so as to not open yourself up to a charge of hypocrisy:

“If Donald Trump Should Be Prosecuted for Alleged Mishandling of Government Documents, Democrats, if They Believed in Law and Order, Should Welcome Hillary Clinton Being Prosecuted For Illegally Putting Classified Documents on the Web and Then Bit Bleaching Away the Evidence”. OR

“If Donald Trump Should Be Impeached for Allegedly Asking Ukrainian Officials To Release Dirt on Hunter Biden To Influence an Election, Democrats, if They Believed in Law and Order, Should Welcome Joe Biden Being Impeached For Asking the Saudis To Delay An Oil Production Reduction By One Month To Get Past the Election To Influence The Election”.

To “Not So Sharpie As To Reveal My True Identity And take Public Responsibility For My Juvenile Posts Sharpie,” post this reply:

“John Kavanagh engaging in trolling democrat hypocrisy.

Donating In Honor of Arizona Rep John Kavanagh is what all the cool online hypocrites are doing, I’m pretty sure.
    Be cool like them.

    • How about I decide what is posted on my website, John? Your opinion as who might be a hypocrite is of utterly no interest to anyone here.

    • John. You have to stop drinking whatever they are serving in the Trump Alt Universe. Hillary Clinton went to the F.B.I. and met with investigators before James Comey released his findings. Has Donald Trump talked with the F.B.I. or Congress in the same forthright fashion Clinton did? In a word, no. For someone who came from law enforcement John, you are very forgiving of the twice impeached, twice popular vote loser, twice David Duke endorsed individual who, from his perch in the Oval Office, set out to destroy the Republic and install himself as a dictator. I am curious why someone who was a former police officer from the Northeast (who should have been familiar with Trump’s double-dealings) would side with the camp that invokes lie after lie and is trying to shred the Constitution you swore to uphold. It is time to leave the Cult of Trump John and rejoin the world of the sane and law abiding.
