A friend told me he’s seen ads for Arizona Virtual Academy on Blog for Arizona lately. I have to admit, I never look at the ads, so . . . No, I didn’t mean it! I not only look at them, I buy everything they tell me to buy! Keep those ads coming, folks.
So I checked just now. The Ads by Google on the top of the sidebar are for “Arizona School Grade K-12” (Sub-head: “Give Your Child a Better Education Tuition-Free.” Yes, it’s tuition free, because the state pays for it. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just sayin’.), “Arizona Distance Learning,” and “IBE,” a company that helps you give tax credits to private schools (and, if I’m right about this, gets to keep something like 10% of the tax credit money for itself. Good work if you can get it).
Arizona Virtual Academy isn’t up right now, but it probably will be soon.
We get those ads for the same reason we get lots of McCain ads. The ad generating software puts up ads that link with key words found regularly on the site. McCain gets a whole lot of attention here — he doesn’t have to whine about Obama getting more coverage, that’s for sure. And I use terms like Education, Charter Schools and Virtual Schools enough that those ads pop up regularly.
No need to thank me, Mike. You’re welcome.
UPDATE: I was just reviewing the post to make sure I got it right (I almost always make half a dozen edits after I first post it). At the bottom of my post are ads for “Virtual Charter School” and “K12 Virtual High School.” The first links to Arizona Virtual Academy. The second links to K12, Inc., AZVA’s parent company.
