It’s a good Wednesday morning

It's virtually certain Russell Pearce is out, with Lewis' 8 point margin holding. Eight points! That's a minor mandate, not a squeaker. The people of Mesa have spoken, big time.

Tucson's Democrats fared well, though Shirley Scott's race is still up in the air.

Many but not all of the local school funding measures passed.

Greg Stanton won in Phoenix.

Ohio voted resoundingly against John Kasich's anti-union legislation.

Mississippi voted against defining personhood at fertilization.

There are plenty of things to mull over and worry about concerning yesterday's elections, but I don't feel like mulling right now. It's a good morning in Arizona and America, with the voters beginning to say, "Look, we voted for you Republicans because we liked your in-your-face attitude. We didn't think you were really going to do all those crazy things you talked about during the campaigns!"

The ship of public sentiment may be slowing changing direction.

A HOW-COULD-I-LEAVE-THIS-OUT UPDATE: Shame on me for leaving this out of the list. Daniel Hernandez was elected to the Sunnyside School Board with 62% of the vote. Congrats, Daniel.
