Obama is an enemy of humanity. It must be true. Trent Franks said so.
UPDATE: Franks didn't mean to say Obama is an enemy of humanity.
Bethany Haley, spokeswoman for Franks, said the congressman was referring to "unborn humanity" and should have clarified his statement.
Ah. Obama is an enemy of unborn humanity. That clarifies things.
A NOTE FROM DR. WORD: I know a little bit about the rhythm of language. When you actually leave a word out of a sentence, the sentence sounds as good or better with the word added. This sentence sounds awful with the word "unborn" added.
A president that has lost his way that badly, that has no ability to see the image of God in these little fellow human beings, if he can't do that right, then he has no place in any station of government and we need to realize that he is an enemy of [unborn] humanity.
Uh uh. It's a nicely crafted sentence until you put in "unborn." Doesn't work. He meant it the way he said it. He got caught, and he's trying to lie his way out of it. That says to me that Franks "has no place in any station of government." But that's just me. (Though he's probably not an enemy of humanity. At least so far as I know.)

I am so damned sick and tired of the likes of Trent Franks, I am sputtering! The nerve, the unmitigated gall of this representative of Arizona to make these outrageous comments – in public – is mind blowing. If men had babies, abortion would be a sacrament! This is nothing worse than men determined to “put women in their place” (I’ll leave it to your imagination where this place is) and keep them there! When I took Economics in college, I was taught that “your” world stopped where my elbow began. Too bad nobody taught Trent Franks that no one died and left him boss – he is one of many – and it is not for him to decide what someone else must do – he cannot decide another person’s actions – and then leave that person to take the consequences of his decision!!!!
AARGH!!!
Incidentally, abortion is one of the oldest known medical procedures and was practiced during ancient times, but it is not mentioned even once in scripture.
They spend a lot of time talking about lepers but not even once does anyone in the scripture talk about abortion.

A Republican member of the House of Representatives accused President Barack Obama of being “an enemy of humanity” during a conservative values forum this past weekend.
In a speech Saturday before the How to Take Back America conference, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) made comments that went far beyond the limits of traditional White House criticism. At one point, Franks demanded that Obama release his birth certificate to prove his constitutionally eligibility to hold office. The bluntest charge, however, centered on the president’s position on abortion, which the congressman derided as “insane” and godless.
— So anyone who disagrees with “Birther” Franks’ anti-abortion zealotry is demonized as “insane” and “godless” and “an enemy of humanity.” That would be a majority of Americans, Trent. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/05/is-public-opinion-changing-on-abortion.html Trent wants to “take back America” from a majority of his fellow American citizens – whom he demonizes. Those are some “values.”
Trent is just another demagogue playing to the anti-abortion fundamentalist base of the GOP.
