Larry Bodine is the New President of the The Democrats of Greater Tucson

Blog for Arizona Editor and Incoming President of the Democrats for Greater Tucson Larry Bodine.

Congratulations to Blog for Arizona Editor Larry Bodine on being voted the next President of the Democrats of Greater Tucson.

The organization, celebrating its 40th year of existence (before then, it was known as the Young Democrats of Greater Tucson), is a weekly forum for local Tucson area Democrats to meet and discuss the issues facing the region, state, and nation. It is also a gathering where local and state candidates speak on their candidacies and positions regarding the issues.

Mr. Bodine has had an exciting career in journalism, law, and teaching. A winner of seven awards for investigative journalism, Mr. Bodine has worked for newspapers like the New York Daily News. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar. He is currently a writer and editor at the Blog for Arizona and teaches a class on “Getting Active in Local Politics” at the University of Arizona – OLLI.

Commenting on his election, Mr. Bodine said:

“I’m honored to have the support of the members of Democrats of Greater Tucson, now in its 40th year of bringing the best speakers on topics of political interest. 2020 will be a very exciting year, with more than 50 Democratic candidates filing to run for office. DGT works to elect more Democratic candidates, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

The Democrats of Greater Tucson professes to be the “Arizona’s only weekly forum for Democrats.”

Other cities and towns in Arizona can learn from their example in advancing the Democratic Party message.

Meetings, with the exceptions of holidays, are held every Monday at the Kettle Restuarant at 12:00 p.m.
