Latest story on private prisons too important to miss

This is potentially a scandal of major proportions that Brewer is trying to run away from. It needs much, much more coverage. KPHO can't carry it alone.

Here's something that should make any true journalist both enraged and eager to jump in on the story. Brewer is so upset about KPHO's dogged pursuit of the story, she has pulled her campaign ads from the station. Actually, Chuck Coughlin pulled the ads. He's her campaign chair and a lobbyist for Corrections Corporation of America. The news story caught him lying, and made a point of proving he was lying. How often have we seen that in the media lately?

The KPHO news team deserves great credit for uncovering and keeping on the story, especially Morgan Loew who has been doing the reporting. Other media outlets need to show themselves to be true journalists and pick up the story.
