Nomination petitions for the City of Tucson candidates running for City Council seats in Wards 3, 5, and 6 were due yesterday by 5 p.m. for the Primary, and the City Clerk just listed those who submitted petitions. All are Democrats. No Republicans or Libertarians filed to run in any of these wards.
Ward 3 (open seat) One term Democratic Councilman Paul Durham decided not to run for re-election and former Councilwoman Karin Uhlich (3 terms) was appointed to that seat till December, 2021.

The Dem primary will be held in the three wards on August 3, 2021.
The General Election is city-wide and will be held on November 2, 2021. 2 Independent candidates are listed as running for City Council in the General, in Wards 3 and 6. They appear to be political newcomers. They submitted their nomination petitions by April 5 as well.
