Nomination petitions for the City of Tucson candidates running for City Council seats in Wards 3, 5, and 6 were due yesterday by 5 p.m. for the Primary, and the City Clerk just listed those who submitted petitions. All are Democrats. No Republicans or Libertarians filed to run in any of these wards.

Ward 3 (open seat)  One term Democratic Councilman Paul Durham decided not to run for re-election and former Councilwoman Karin Uhlich (3 terms) was appointed to that seat till December, 2021.

Kevin Dahl

Juan Padres

Ward 5

Richard Fimbres (incumbent)

Ward 6

Steve Kozachik (incumbent)

The Dem primary will be held in the three wards on August 3, 2021.

The General Election is city-wide and will be held on November 2, 2021.  2 Independent candidates are listed as running for City Council in the General, in Wards 3 and 6. They appear to be political newcomers. They submitted their nomination petitions by April 5 as well.
