Maricopa County Democrats to Hold Winter Convention on December 14.

The Democratic National Committee has declared that Arizona will be one of the eight major battleground states in 2020.

NBC Meet the Press host Chuck Todd has indicated that Maricopa County is one of five battleground counties their news organization will be watching as a barometer for where the voters are leaning for the 2020 elections.

Maricopa County Democrats, eager to generate enthusiasm for local, county, and state races, will kick off the 2020 Election Year with the annual winter convention at Carl Hayden High School on December 14, 2019.

Julian Castro

Democratic Presidential Candidate and former Obama Secretary of Housing Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Convention.

 

 

 

 

All of the candidates running for Maricopa County offices will also be speaking to the convention attendees.

Maricopa County Democratic Party Chairperson Steven Slugocki commented about the convention that:

“We hope everyone can join us for this exciting day. We have a historic slate of county candidates this year, plus Secretary Castro, this will be a great day and we hope everyone can join us. Maricopa County is the largest battleground county in the country and we are ready to win big in 2020!

 

 

The Convention will go from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Registration will start at 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

There will be optional committee meetings on policy and electoral issues from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
