More on Prop. 204

by David Safier

For anyone who wants a clear explanation of the nine state ballot measures we're voting on along with sensible suggestions for how to vote, check out Craig's post right below this one. Shorter Craig: Yes on Prop. 204; No on everything else.

I write a monthly column for the Explorer. Here's my latest, on why we need to vote Yes on 204.

Because my Explorer audience is different, I use a somewhat different style of explanation than I do on the blog, but I don't alter my ideas (On BfA, I'm sitting in my living room or around a table at a restaurant or tavern talking with people who I know and who know me. In the Explorer, I'm writing to a much more varied audience of strangers who are left, right and center, very informed, somewhat informed and un- or ill-informed. I have to be clearer and more precise, without using the kind of shorthand that's typical of blog posts). I like to think it's a careful argument which is understandable to people with different points of view.
