Nice stuff for teachers (and others)

The NY Times has posted a series of short videos of teachers in their classrooms with a running narration describing why what the teacher is doing is effective. These things are usually dreary and didactic, but this set of videos is a welcome change. They're short, interesting and helpful.

The videos are connected to an article in Sunday's magazine, Building a Better Teacher, which I found interesting but a little too much like what I've read over the years about techniques promising to revolutionize the way we prepare teachers for the classroom. Nonetheless, there are ideas and trends classroom teachers can benefit from.
