Nogales in the NY Times

I usually don't read the Travel section in the Sunday Times, but the cover story on Nogales by the well traveled author, Paul Theroux, is an exception.

It's a complex, nuanced story by someone who knows how to write with style and substance. Lots about the effects of the fence, lots about the charms and lure of the city, and a heartbreaking ending about border crossers and long time undocumented immigrants in the U.S. who are dumped in the city to fend for themselves however they can.
