Headline: National Tea Party tour rolls into Flagstaff.

Over a thousand people showed up on Monday night to hear two bus-loads of conservative activists speak. The activists were part of the National Tea Party Express tour.

There were several Arizona politicians that also addressed the crowd. Senator Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, echoed the crowds sentiments when he vowed to fight any health care reform bill that pays for abortions and sanctions "death panels"

"Not on my watch," the Mesa Republican shouted.

Pearce wanted to politically mobilize the crowd and encourage conservatives to organize for the 2010 elections.

"We are going to take back this country. And it starts here. And it starts now," Pearce said.

Four people who opposed the rally were escorted by police off the private property after being asked to leave by crowd members. One person was wearing a "He Lied, They Died" T-shirt. The person was carrying a rifle and a handgun, according to police. Several other protesters had handguns holstered on their hips but were not asked to leave the rally.

  1. What I think is awesome is this event was devised by a kooky former GOP House candidate named Howard Kaloogian.
In 2006, Kaloogian claimed that Iraq was totally pacified and he produced some pictures he had supposedly taken in Iraq as proof. Problem was someone recognized the neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey where he took the pictures.

If we had a real media there would be a big story in there somewhere about why the tea-baggers can’t get anyone with any sort of credibility to lead their movement.
