Now the Democratic Presidential Nominee, Kamala Harris Brings Back Obama Campaign Strategists to Help Bring Her to Victory

From The Daily Beast

People have described the energy of the Kamala Harris campaign rallies as resembling those of the Obama Era.

After yesterday, people can say the Harris for President Campaign team looks a lot like the Obama one too.

After securing the nomination, the Harris team announced the hiring of several Obama-era campaign specialists including:

  • David Plouffe as senior advisor on strategy.
  • Stephanie Cutter as senior advisor for messaging and strategy.
  • Mitch Stewart as battleground advisor.
  • Jennifer Palmieri as an advisor to the Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff.

The Vice President has also reshuffled several of her people and individuals associated with the Biden/Harris Campaign to new roles.

For example, according to the Washington Post, Julie Chavez Rodriguez will remain the campaign manager for Harris for President but her portfolio will now include focusing on delivering Arizona and Nevada, two states Chavez Rodriguez, the granddaughter of Cesar Chavez, is familiar with, to the Harris ticket.

According to reporting from news outlets, all of these individuals will report to Campaign Chairperson Jen O’Malley Dillon. Ms. Dillon, in reporting from the New York Times, said: “We’re thrilled to expand her team with these battle-tested leaders that know her and know how to win close elections.”

In reporting from NBC News, “longtime Democratic strategist Pete Giangreco said. “This is the new A-Team. It means the vice president is in it to win it. It speaks well of the kind of president she would be. She’s surrounding herself with top-level campaign talent … These are people who are winners and have played at the very highest levels of politics and government.”

Two anonymous sources offered:

“This is, let’s take Trump down once and for all.”

“Today, accept a nomination. This weekend, pick a vice president. Next week, a major campaign swing, then the convention, and then it’s the debate.”
