When I arrived at the northwest office (Oracle and Magee) a half hour late for breakfast, I expected 25 people would be there, hoped for 40 and feared 15. I was amazed to find at least 70 people. "Free breakfast," someone said to me, but I don't think that was the reason.
This was kind of a kickoff walk-and-phone event for the local general election campaigns of Rich Carmona, Ann Kirkpatrick and Nancy Young Wright (David Joseph and Jo Holt were also represented), and it looked like Democrats were ready to kick ass and take names. If this is any indication, the ground game favors Democrats — if people keep showing up at the various offices around the city and doing their bit.
Here is a photo of the breakfast — I could only get a sampling of the people there — and a group photo, where, without a wide angle lens, I left a lot of folks out.
