I was just listening to a video interview with Jon Carson, the national field director for the Obama campaign.
He said things were going well in the key battleground states. In fact he said the offices were experiencing a "negative flakeage rate" among volunteers. Instead of people promising to show up and flaking out, they were showing up and bringing friends with them.
Negative flakeage rate. Great term. I was just at the Pima County Dems' Headquarters, and they must be having the same situation. Nary a phone was free. And Howard Dean was in the house for a pep talk.
Dean is going around the country pumping up volunteers. He's not going everywhere, he said, only to states where Obama has a good chance of winning.
Two weeks ago, who expected that was possible?
