On This Fifth Anniversary of Trump’s Treason on January 6, 2021: Remember and Never Forget

It has been five years since Donald Trump committed treason against the country and the Constitution by enabling his supporters to attempt an act of Domestic Terrorism by attacking the Nation’s Capitol in order to stage a coup and overturn the legitimate election of President Joe Biden.

It will always be a sad commentary on the substantial portion of the American Populace that when the time came to tell Mr. Trump to go to electoral hell in the 2024 elections for his part in orchestrating the domestic terrorist attack on Congress on January 6, 2021, they instead decided to forget his impeachable crimes, poor record during his first term, and numerous criminal convictions and referrals and elect him to the Oval Office again because or their Judas belief that he would lower prices for them.

January 6, 2021, is a day like December 7, 1941, or September 11, 2001, that should be taught in history classes as one that should forever live in infamy but instead of foreign enemies that attacked us at Pearl Harbor, the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon, the adversary was a domestic one, the nation’s highest executive, who, among his first acts on the day he came back to power, pardoned all the domestic terrorists who attacked the Capitol in his name.

On the fifth year anniversary of January 6, 2016 Popular Vote Winner Hillary Clinton posted:

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries posted:

Members of Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Coalition have also weighed in on the fifth anniversary of Trump’s treason.

Representative Yassamin Ansari wrote:

“On the fifth anniversary of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, we are reminded that Democracy survives only if we defend it.

January 6th was an assault on our Constitution, driven by lies and led by Donald Trump.

As Trump continues to defy the rule of law and undermine democratic norms, every American—regardless of party—must recommit to protecting our democracy and upholding the Constitution.”

Senator Ruben Gallego, who was a Congressional Representative trapped on the House floor when the Trump-supported rioters attacked, posted:

“Five years later, January 6th is still a stain on our country. Instead of wiping that stain away, some of my colleagues are choosing to honor the very people who stormed our Capitol and tried to violently overthrow our democracy.

The people who carried out the insurrection were traitors. Ashli Babbitt was a traitor. I will not stop fighting to undo the military honors this administration wrongly gave her.

We should be honoring the Capitol Police who put their lives on the line to protect us. The officers who were beaten. The members of Congress who were ready to fight to defend our democracy. Not the people who tried to tear it all down.”

Senator Mark Kelly offered:

“Five years later, the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021, remains a stain on our nation’s history. It was an assault on the very foundation of our democracy – the right for Americans to choose their leaders. It should be a lasting reminder that we cannot take America for granted. Now more than ever, it’s important that all Americans stand together to protect and strengthen our Democracy.”

JoAnna Mendoza, the retired Marine, who is running to replace Juan ‘I voted against your healthcare‘ Ciscomani posted:

Democrats held a hearing today in Congress to remind people about what happened on January 6, 2021.

Republican members of Congress, in their blind and political obedience to the American Duce Wannabe, chose not to participate.

That should tell readers all they need to know about the Republican commitment to patriotism, law and order, true history, the Constitution, and the American Ideal.

When you go to the ballot box in 2026, remember and never forget January 6, 2021, and vote out the people who did.
