Only in the Star headlines, Part 25 (I think)

The saga of the intrepid Star Creative Headline Writing Team continues. Today, it's the screaming head of an article about the decision not to open Florida's coast to oil drilling:

White House kills plan to open oil-drilling areas

WHITE HOUSE KILLS PLAN!!!!! It's a clear case of oil drilling homicide by Obama and his henchmen.

Here is the generally used head:

Oil drilling won't be allowed in eastern Gulf

I admit, it doesn't sing like the Star's, but it has a bit more information, like an indication of where the oil drilling won't be allowed. See, it's not that all new oil drilling is being halted. It's just the drilling in the eastern Gulf, the "offshore waters near Florida."

Environmentalists heaved sighs of relief and the oil industry bemoaned a lost opportunity to tap energy supplies when the Obama administration on Wednesday unexpectedly shelved plans to open offshore waters near Florida to oil and gas drilling.

The truth can be so mundane sometime, especially when it doesn't make Obama look like a stone killer, as any good headline [in the Star] should.
