Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego hit all the right notes with regards to the people of Ukraine and the vulgar and bigoted statements of Wendy Rogers.
In a series of posts today (February 28, 2022,) she announced that the lights of Phoenix City Hall will be blue and gold (the flag colors of Ukraine) to honor the people fighting for freedom and Democracy against Putin’s Russia.
She also posted links to sites people can donate to that will send aid to the people of Ukraine.
Here are some direct links for donating.

Later in the day, she shared a joint statement from Maricopa County Board Supervisors Bill Gates and Clint Hickman that condemned the vile words uttered by Legislative District Six State Senator Wendy Rogers. She also offered her own view of Roger’s statements, stating:
“Anti Semitism and words of hate have no place in civilized society. Phoenix is a welcoming community of all people. We worship without fear, go to school without fear, go to work without fear.”

Mayor Gallego is right.
The people of Ukraine should be honored and helped.
The words of Wendy Rogers have no place in civilized society.
You go Madam Mayor.
