You just have to wonder. On the six month anniversary of the horrific shooting at Gabrielle Giffords’ Congress on Your Corner, the Pima County Republican Party has this event on its home page:
Manning’s full announcement gives the particulars:
Minimum $50 campaign contribution gets you a Chester Manning for Pima County Sheriff T-Shirt, 1 – 30 round magazine load of 9 mm to fire from a vintage WW-II British Sten submachine gun, as much .22 rimfire as you want to shoot through any of various “fun guns”, water, sodas, and hot dog lunch.
The announcement of a machine gun shoot at a campaign event is all too reminiscent of the similar announcement on the Pima GOP website back in June, 2010, when Jesse Kelly was running against Giffords.
Here in Giffords’ own Pima County, is it too much to ask Republicans to stop pairing guns gunfire and politics?
(h/t to AZ Blue Meanie for the catch.)
